How to watch IPTV on a Samsung smart TV (Tizen) in 2026
The two reliable ways to watch IPTV on a Samsung TV: a compatible player from the Samsung Smart Hub (Apps), or a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device plugged into HDMI. Pros, cons and step-by-step setup.
Samsung TVs run Tizen, not Android: apps like TiviMate are not available on them. You can install a compatible IPTV player from the Samsung Smart Hub (Apps) and sign in with Xtream Codes or M3U, but the simplest and most complete option is to plug a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device into an HDMI port.
First, check your TV
To know your model and its system version: open Settings › Support › About This TV. Models from the last few years run recent versions of Tizen and handle IPTV players well; very old models may not offer them at all.
Option 1: a compatible IPTV player from the Samsung Smart Hub (Apps)
Search the store for “IPTV” and choose a player that accepts Xtream Codes (server URL, username, password) or an M3U link. The offer changes by model and country, so check the reviews and the publisher before installing.
- Press Home on the remote and open the Samsung Smart Hub (Apps).
- Search for “IPTV”, open a player and read its description: it must mention Xtream Codes or M3U.
- Install it and open it. Many TV players show a device ID or MAC address and ask you to add your playlist from their website: follow the instructions on screen.
- Enter your details from your access email and wait for channels and the guide to load.
Option 2 (recommended): a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device
A streaming stick plugged into an HDMI port turns your Samsung into a full IPTV TV, with the best players (TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, XCIPTV), regular updates and our step-by-step guides.
| Built-in TV app | Fire TV Stick / Google TV | |
|---|---|---|
| Extra cost | None, or a paid player licence | The price of the stick |
| Choice of players | Limited, varies by model | TiviMate, Smarters, XCIPTV and more |
| TV guide and zapping | Varies by app | Excellent with TiviMate |
| Updates | Depends on the TV maker | Frequent |

Setup takes about 10 minutes: plug the stick into HDMI and power, choose that HDMI input with your Samsung remote, sign in to your Amazon or Google account, then follow our Fire TV guide or Google TV guide.
Picture quality tips
- Use a 4K stick on a 4K TV, plugged into an HDMI port that supports 4K (often marked on the TV).
- Plan about 25 Mbps per 4K screen and prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Turn off motion smoothing in the TV picture settings if sports look unnatural.
