How to add or refresh the TV guide (EPG) in TiviMate and IPTV Smarters

Short answer

With an Xtream Codes sign-in, the TV guide loads automatically: you usually only need to refresh it. In TiviMate, update the EPG from the settings; in Smarters and XCIPTV, use the guide refresh option. With an M3U link, add the EPG (XMLTV) address given by your provider.

What is the EPG?

The EPG (electronic program guide) is the TV schedule shown next to each channel: what’s on now, what’s next, and the week ahead. Your player downloads it separately from the channels, which is why the picture can work while the guide stays empty.

Xtream Codes or M3U: the key difference

With Xtream Codes (server URL, username, password), the app finds the guide on its own. With an M3U link, you often need to add an EPG address yourself. If your guide is always empty with M3U, switching to Xtream Codes is the simplest fix. Details in our article Xtream Codes vs M3U.

TiviMate

Open Settings › EPG.
Select Update EPG and wait for the progress bar to finish (a minute or two).
In the same menu, set the update interval to once a day and keep enough days of guide (a few days is plenty).
With an M3U playlist, choose EPG sources › Add EPG source and paste the EPG address from your provider.

IPTV Smarters Pro

From the home screen, open the menu and choose the option to refresh the TV guide (sometimes shown as “Install EPG” or “Refresh EPG”, depending on the version).
Wait for the download to finish, then reopen Live TV.
If the guide is still empty, delete the user and add it again with Login with Xtream Codes API.

XCIPTV

Open the settings, find the EPG section and start a refresh. Then go back to Live TV and give it a minute.

Some channels show no program

Some channels simply don’t publish a guide, for example certain event channels.
If programs are shifted by a few hours, check the time zone of the device, then the EPG time offset setting in the app.
