Choose TiviMate if you watch mostly live TV on a Fire TV or Android TV and want a cable-style TV guide. Choose IPTV Smarters Pro if you want one simple app on every device (TV, phone, tablet, iPhone) with movies and series front and center. On an old or slow device, try XCIPTV.
Both apps are players: they don’t include any channels. They display the service you subscribe to, using the sign-in details your provider gives you. The choice is therefore about comfort, not content: you can install both and keep the one you prefer.

TiviMate: the cable-TV feeling
TiviMate is built for remotes and TVs. The guide shows channels as rows and programs as a timeline, you change channels with the arrows, and you can reorder or hide channels and categories. With the Premium option you also get features such as favorites, several playlists and recording. It is the favorite of people who mostly watch live channels and sports in the living room.
Downsides: it is not designed for phones, and several useful features are part of Premium.
IPTV Smarters Pro: one app everywhere
Smarters opens on large tiles: Live TV, Movies, Series, Catch-up. Everyone in the family understands it in seconds, and the same app runs on the TV, the phone and the tablet. It also includes parental controls and a choice of built-in video players, useful if a channel stutters.
Downsides: the TV guide is less complete than TiviMate’s, and zapping is a little slower.
And XCIPTV?
XCIPTV Player is a lighter option that starts quickly. It is a good choice for an older Fire TV Stick or a box with little memory, where heavier apps feel slow.
