“Too many connections” IPTV error: what it means and how to fix it

Why your IPTV player says “max connections reached” or cuts out when another screen is on, how to free the connection in a few minutes, and when to add a screen.

Short answer

Your subscription allows a set number of screens at the same time (one connection per subscription by default). The message appears when that number is reached, for example a TV left on in another room. Stop playback on the other screen, wait 1 to 2 minutes, then retry. To watch on several screens at once, add a screen to your plan.

Why the message appears

Each subscription includes a number of simultaneous connections. You can install your player on as many devices as you like, but only that many can play at the same time. Common causes:

  • A TV or phone left playing in another room, or an app still open in the background.
  • Two players open on the same device (for example TiviMate and Smarters).
  • A connection that hasn’t closed yet after a crash or a Wi-Fi drop: the server frees it after a short delay.
  • Your details shared outside your household.

How to fix it in 3 minutes

  1. Stop playback on every other screen and fully close the player (not just the back button).
  2. Wait 1 to 2 minutes so the server releases the connection.
  3. Open the player again on the screen you want to use.
  4. Still refused? Restart the device, and check that you don’t have two players running.

If it keeps happening

If the message appears when nobody else is watching, your details may be in use elsewhere. Contact support: we reset your username and password, and you sign in again on your own devices only.

Watching on several screens at once

On the pricing page, choose the number of screens (1 to 5): the price adjusts and your access allows that many simultaneous connections.
